A great event and we raised thousands of dollars for the Homeless Shelter. Soooper time. Working on the recordings now to see if there is anything we might want to put out there. Great people and we almost sold the place out!!

Im playing a couple of church valentines day celebrations this weekend with the Peachtree Jazz Edition. This is one from Friday nite in Newnan at the Methodist Church . We may have pics from Sunday from the church near Peachtree City. Enjoy. I play Bari in this group and sit right in the middle of the front row!!

Weekend in Birmingham at the Museum

This weekend the USUAL SUSPECTS Big Band played at the Birmingham Museum of Art for the Brownell Travel 125th Anniversary Celebration. Money was raised to help the tornado victims in Alabama. A LOT of money. Upwards of $140,000 plus!!!

The Combo played some before and then my sister and her husband and my wife etc all had a great time with dancing and etc..

A few of my favorite things.

Now that we are in the “dead zone” between Xmas and New years, punctuated by my wifes birthday, I have been forced to do those things that I have put off for a while. I need to re arrange my library and neat up stuff around my desk etc. Vicki is now back in the yard and working like a mule. So, I end up swimming when I can and to avoid any other activity, recording some trax. I have several tunes that I am wanting to record but since its just me and a trax, I have to find one that fits. Since I now am an i Tunes user, I have discovered a plethora of karaoke tracks that I can use. I can listen to these online and then $0.99 later, I have the track.

I just downloaded a couple of trax in different keys to my latest favorite song (recording these usually ruins them for me for about a year!!!! familiarity breeds contempt) and ended up writing the lead sheet out because of the key changes. Anyway, It kept me busy for about 6 hours today. Now Im going to go carve up the H2O at the senior center!!! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11324380&q=hi

My wifes birthday is around Xmas so its always a big deal at my house. I have not made a habit of holidays being a big deal for a couple of reasons. First, I ususally worked on the holidays because this is when regular folks get a new 4 wheeler or saw or some velocity injecting adrenaline pumping toy that makes them crazy, and they inevitably hurt themselves. As an Orthopedic surgeon, I usually had to go fix stuff. And if nobody new got hurt, I still had to take care of those unfortunate enough to be in the hospital on holidays. Secondly, I think that you should act like its Xmas everyday of the year. Seriously, if you think somebody needs a gift during the year, why not give it then. Anyway, so we are at the house awaiting what I hope is a safe automobile trip of my children to the house, another un needed danger of the holidays.

Merry Christmas Everyone. The kids have arrived. PLEEZE BE SAFE THIS YEAR!!!!! FOR EVERYONES SAKE!!!!
