Screwed By One of the Greats!!!!!

First let me tell you that my heart hurts to bring you this news. The band has been working VERY hard to put on a WORLD CLASS show for the Percy Sledge date. You guys have been dedicated and excited and, as somebody said…”the band is sounding REALLY GOOD”.  You are great folks and I want you to know that I did everything in my power for this not to happen.

I received a phone call TODAY from Mr. Motte who booked us 6 months ago to play for the opening of Percy Sledge on Saturday night……..who said that Percy did not “want the competition”. Basically, he (Mr. Motte) has run into some financial difficulty and has decided to axe the EJS band because he doesn’t have the money.

He has advertised on our name for 6 months and then cancels us at the last minute, because he says that Percy Sledge wanted more money and bonuses and he couldn’t afford both us and Percy and that Percy threatened to pull the whole show if the EJS played.   What the real truth is, we will never know.

Bottom line is that he has breached a contract that we have had with him and has cancelled our participation in the show this weekend.  I have met with Jack, Barry, Dave Martin, Kim and Patti to chart a course thru this mess.

First, I am concerned that some of you have already bought tickets and you need to get a refund if you were banking on us being there.

Also, you need to tell all your friends and relatives, coworkers, email buddies etc. that we will not be playing.  They can see if they can get their money back as well.

We will not be getting our fee for playing.  . Someone once said….”If they can live with it, we can live without it!”  We have thought about legal action, media campaign, etc and have decided that it would be difficult to describe what has happened without sounding like either “sour grapes” or getting something else on us.  We will take the high road and chalk it up to experience and move on to the concert on Sunday afternoon.

All of us are extremely proud of this awesome group that we have and the fine HONEST people that we have in the group.

Thursday night we will record our set for Percy Sledge just like we were going to do it Sat night. We will start with that set on SUNDAY ……….the crowd will be impressed.

So come Thursday with your chin up and your game face on and we will make some awesome music!!!!! Details for Sunday soon……..

God Bless all you guys and gals…you are wonderful…….nail
